What you’ll be doing
As a graduate, you’ll be involved in the full commissioning lifecycle from design through to handover. You’ll help ensure building services systems are thoroughly tested, tuned and ready for operation.
This is a unique opportunity that’s different from our other graduate engineering roles:
- You’ll be primarily site-based, spending most of your time on project sites rather than in the office.
- You’ll work autonomously and follow a schedule that can change depending on project needs and site access.
- While your ECS team will support you, much of that support will be virtual, so you’ll need feel confident in seeking guidance remotely and collaborating online.
Strong communication and client consulting skills are essential, as you’ll be the main point of contact onsite, representing NDY and providing smooth coordination with contractors and clients.
We’re looking for someone who learns quickly, adapts easily and can pick up processes at pace. To support your development, you’ll be paired with a mentor who will guide you through our systems and help you grow within the role.
Your responsibilities will include:
- supporting the development and execution of commissioning plans and test procedures
- participating in site-based testing of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems
- helping deliver Green Star and LEED certification processes as an Independent Commissioning Agent (ICA) or Commissioning Authority (CxA)
- contributing to building tuning, recommissioning and performance optimisation initiatives
- preparing reports and documentation that give clients confidence in system performance and compliance.
