About the role

We are delighted to announce that our Digital and Technology & Innovation team is on the lookout for several Interns who will be based in various locations around Australia for a placement of up to 12 weeks over the University summer vacation period.

The Digital and Technology & Innovation function is responsible for driving Orica’s innovation leadership, encompassing Marketing, Information Technology, Research, Product Development and Commercialisation. 

Internship projects are available across the Digital and Technology & Innovation function, offering great development opportunities for later-year students with Data Science & Analytics, Engineering and Science` specializations.  

In addition to a real-world project with formal reporting to management, Orica’s internship program offers curated engagement with our senior leadership and broader exposure to the wider organisation, including current graduates.

What you will be doing

• Define project deliverables with your manager, matching your skill set, then prepare an implementation plan, including a schedule, priorities, and budget. 
• Apply your training experience to analyse and resolve problems within your area of work. 
• Provide results coherently, on time, and with useful interpretation during regular meetings. 
• Apply your technical knowledge in a systematic, flexible, and innovative manner to deliver your project and further improvements. 
• Complete final project reporting and deliver a presentation for maximum impact.

• Computer Science, Software Engineering, and Electronics Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering, Mechanics, and Mechatronics
• Cyber Science and Information Systems
