We’re looking for an Analyst to join our tight knit, hard working team of investment professionals and deliver outstanding performance for clients.
This is a role suited to someone early in their career (recent graduate or 1–3 years experience) who wants to take their investment career to the next level. As a member of the Small Companies team you will work with Portfolio Managers to identify, analyse and invest in the best small companies on the ASX. We operate as a team where every member is accountable. Your work will drive portfolio returns.
For the right person, this role offers strong career progression opportunities, with scope to grow into a Senior Analyst, over time, potentially progress to a Portfolio Manager.
About the role
As an Analyst your key responsibility is to analyse investment opportunities – from financial models, industry analysis, to running management meetings. In a fast paced environment, you will have the opportunity to work across all sectors and learn from the best in the industry.
What you'll do
- Identifying earnings drivers and build detailed company financial models
- Performing broad sector analysis and build market models
- Undertaking extensive ‘on the ground’ diligence with companies, competitors, suppliers and customers
- Preparing for and running management meetings
- Shape investment decisions through effectively communicating your insights and recommendations to the team
Qualifications
Across the Firetrail team we look for hardworking individuals who have a passion for equities, a drive for perpetual improvement, and people who put the team before the individual.
For this role specifically, we are looking for someone with:
- 1-3 years’ experience as a sell side or buy side equities analyst
- Demonstrated passion for investing
- Deep understanding of P&Ls, balance sheets and cashflow
- A desire to win and work ethic to match
- Willingness to travel
- High energy, passion, and resilience to work in a high performing investment team
- Comfortable using technology and AI to work more efficiently
This is a full time role, based in our Sydney or Melbourne CBD offices.
