QBE GRADUATE PROGRAM 2025

DATA AND ANALYTICS STREAM

PERMANENT ROLE | SYDNEY | HYBRID WORKING

GRADUATE PROGRAM OVERVIEW

18 months | 3 different teams | 6-month experiences

Our award-winning graduate program has been running for many years with huge success.  Graduates are hired as permanent employees, with the first 18-months spent on the graduate program experiencing three different teams across our business, known as ‘rotations’. In addition to three rotations, graduates progress through a structured learning and development plan, have access to senior leaders, and spend time with their graduate cohort forming meaningful and long-lasting connections.

Our 2025 graduate program streams include:

  • Technology
  • Data Analytics
  • Insurance Underwriting

DATA AND ANALYTICS

Our data and analytics graduate program stream has been designed for graduates serious about a career in data. Across your three graduate 6-month rotations, you’ll learn about QBE’s overall data strategy and governance, delve into data science and machine learning, and learn how to create data products and services that deliver business insights. Equally important as your technical skills and knowledge, you will learn how a large and complex organisation operates and how to effectively communicate with different stakeholders, creating the perfect environment for you to develop into a well-rounded and trusted data professional. Some of the activities you can expect to experience include:

  • Data quality and management, data and AI ethics, data governance and policies.
  • ELT and data modelling.
  • Data pipelines, validation, and testing.
  • Data analytics and visualisation.
  • Machine learning.
  • Traditional programming.
  • Tactical problem solving and presenting.
  • This list is not exhaustive. Your interests play a role in navigating your graduate program experience.

GRADUATE LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT

  • Your skill and career development are a key focus for the entire graduate program and beyond.  Some of the ways you will learn include:
  • Experiencing our business from three different perspectives across your graduate rotations.
  • Formal classroom style training, always with a practical application.
  • Digital learning pathways designed for the graduate cohort and your program stream more specifically.
  • Informal learning through cohort activities and initiatives.
  • Unlimited access to digital learning content, many courses with official certifications.
  • Your support network: graduate program lead, graduate buddy, rotation leaders, technical buddies, graduate networks (program stream and wider cohort).
  • Networking and public speaking opportunities.
