Queensland Sugar Limited (QSL) is on the hunt for graduates looking for a challenging role which not only builds their skills, but makes a real difference to the industry we serve.

As a leader in the commodity marketing space, QSL's graduate program is uniquely designed to challenge and educate you on end-to-end raw sugar supply chain processes, offering a diverse range of opportunities within the QSL Marketing, Corporate Services and Operations divisions. How it Works:

Over a period of 18-24 months, our graduate program offers a rotation through various sectors of the business. This holistic approach empowers graduates with a comprehensive understanding of the QSL business and the industry we serve.
The tailored program could see you working in the following business areas:

  • Grower Services
  • QSL Direct
  • Marketing & Risk
  • Corporate Services
  • Operations & Logistics

In addition to your rotational program, your development journey will be supported by a mentor to assist you to realise your potential.

More Information:

Grower Services

Based in one of the sugarcane growing regions of Queensland, as a member of the Grower Services team you will assist in growing QSL's market share as well as contributing to the overall industry's growth. Customer service will be front of mind in this rotation as you engage with our broad grower and miller client base, with communication and relationship building skillsets being the focus of your development. 

QSL Direct

The QSL Direct team provides hands-on technical support to our grower client base through our unique customer relationship management system to enhance the grower experience. You’ll work with the team to enhance the grower experience and may also progress to additional responsibilities such as preparing legal documentation and processing grower payments.

Marketing and Risk

As a member of the marketing and Risk Team, you will have the opportunity to assist in the trading and hedging of our billion-dollar foreign exchange and commodity futures risk trade book as well as our physical sales and global trade flow mapping. You will gain exposure to platforms such as Bloomberg and the Intercontinental Exchanges as well as form strong business connections with our associated financial counterparties and international customers.

Corporate Services

With opportunities available in many areas of the Corporate Services division, you could be analysing QSL's risk and compliance, assisting with legal work, learning derivative accounting or completing strategic projects such as sustainability reporting. The professional skills acquired in the Corporate Services will set you up to grow a successful career.

Operations and Logistics

Contribute to the management of bulk commodity storage and handling as you learn through working on quality and receival management, and freight and logistics of the sugar supply chain. Whilst predominately based in the Brisbane office, there may be opportunities to assist with loading and quality management at ship loadings at the bulk sugar terminals throughout Queensland.
