Our Operations:

The Santos operating model centres on the exploration, development, production and sale of natural gas. Operations are supported by a lean corporate centre and a disciplined cost structure to create value for our shareholders while delivering reliable, affordable energy to our customers.

Our business is focussed on five core, long-life natural gas and LNG assets: PNG, Northern Australia, Western Australia Gas, GLNG and Cooper Basin. These assets support our strategy to become a leading Australian domestic gas supplier and a major LNG exporter supplying clean energy to Asia. Our aim is to develop a portfolio of exploration and development opportunities around our five core assets, while seeking to discover and develop additional core assets that align with our strategy. In addition Santos operates smaller assets in the Asia, New South Wales and Western Australia Oil (ANWA) division. These assets have been separated from Santos’ core business and will be run for value.

Santos recognises the strategic value in recruiting new talent at graduate level and provides excellent opportunities for growth and development through our Graduate Program.

As a graduate at Santos we will develop you through focused job rotations aligned to five discipline streams whilst providing you with on-the-job technical training and specialist development activities including personal development. Our program is supported by; a comprehensive Orientation Program, Graduate Ambassadors and mentorship and support.

Graduates are placed into our Adelaide, Brisbane or Perth head offices and have the opportunity to travel and work at our site locations throughout Australia.

The Vacation Program

The Santos Vacation Program is a 12-week structured program that runs from November – February in our Adelaide, Brisbane, and Perth locations. In most cases, students are generally employed into projects in their home locations. In the instance that projects are allocated in an alternate location to the applicant’s home location, (often in the Geoscience discipline in particular), Santos will provide appropriate support to those students for the duration of the program in the project location.

Dates for the 2019/20 Vacation Program will run from 25 November – 21 February.

As a Vacation Student, we give you the opportunity to improve your technical skills and enhance your personal development through hands-on experience and defined and challenging project work. At the conclusion of the program, you will deliver a presentation on your project to various stakeholders within the business, and also receive structured performance feedback from your Project Leader.
