Our Company had its humble beginnings as a one-man farming operation, founded in 1929 by the energetic J.R. Simplot. The Simplot story in Australia began in 1995 when the J.R. Simplot Company expanded into the country, acquiring iconic brands like Birds Eye, John West, Leggo's, Chiko and Edgell. As a business, we pride ourselves on building long term relationships with Australian farmers and other business partners across our operations, building mutually beneficial relationships with our customers. 

Our Graduate Program 

 Our graduate program has been designed to give you broad exposure to our business.  You will work with a diverse pool of talented and experienced people along with being supported and developed by a manager, mentor, and buddy. Along with functional rotations throughout our business, we have a bespoke graduate training experience that is a combination of both group and self-paced development, with a focus on building business acumen and developing you as a leader.  

We believe that experience and perspective should be gained in a multitude of ways. From professional development courses and leadership models to real world experience in our manufacturing facilities, along with growers in our field, understanding the complete supply chain and exploring a variety of roles throughout the company that bring us together globally as “One Simplot”. Our aim is to give you a breadth of experience to understand the business and our passion for “Feeding Our World”.

Finance 

The strategic insights and analysis we provide have been key to Simplot’s ongoing success.  We proudly partner with the business by driving financial performance, effective controls and efficient business processes.   

We have one graduate opportunity in our Finance division and the role will be based at our headquarters in Mentone, Melbourne. You will complete several rotations within our division, this may include gaining exposure to Commercial Finance, Financial Planning & Analysis, Corporate Finance & Operations Finance.    

You will also have the opportunity to develop your experience & business acumen through exposure to our manufacturing sites and commercial activities in foodservice and retail. We support all of our graduates to grow through opportunities to contribute to cross-divisional projects and attend training programs. 

Eligibility 

To be eligible for our Finance graduate role you:

• Have completed your undergraduate or postgraduate degree within the last two years of the program start date (e.g. in either 2023, 2024 or January 2025).
• Have achieved a credit average of 65% or higher in Finance, Accounting or similar
• Have the desire to gain a CPA qualification
• Be available to commence in late January 2025
• Are an Australian or NZ citizen, hold Australian Permanent Residency, or have full working rights for full-time permanent employment in Australia
• Are available to attend our onsite assessment day at our headquarters in Mentone, Melbourne on Monday 26 August 2024.
