Eligibility
You must be Australian or New Zealand Citizen OR an Australian Permanent Resident AND be in your final year of study of a university degree OR completed an undergraduate or postgraduate degree no more than 3 years ago.

You’ll need to be available to start with us as a permanent employee in February 2024.

Our Risk Program   
We support a strong and risk-aware organisation through providing expert advice, constructively challenging the business, and providing innovative solutions.

Working across a broad network of stakeholders, we develop relationships, build trust and help solve problems.

You will learn how to negotiate, collaborate, and utilise your analytical and problem-solving skills to deliver the best outcome for the business.

This is a 12-month Sydney based program with 3 x 4-month rotations. Interstate/regional candidates are welcome to apply, that are comfortable with hybrid working for a single or multiple rotation experience.

Immerse yourself in a 12-month program with three pre-determined rotations designed to provide diverse experiences and insights to inform your Risk career. You’ll be able to tailor your experience by submitting your preference for a preferred rotation within our dynamic risk teams, empowering you to shape your career path.

Rotation areas
You will work across diverse Risk business teams to understand the different focuses across the Group Risk Function.

The dynamic Risk teams include:

  • Financial Crime 
  • Non-Financial (includes Operational and Compliance)
  • Westpac Institutional Banking & Treasury 
  • Chief Operating Office
  • Chief Transformation Office 
  • Consumer and Business Banking 
  • Deputy Chief Risk Office (includes Credit)
  • Customer, Technology, Corporate Services and Enterprise

You’ll experience a holistic learning journey as all rotations are fully supported with on-the-job training, impressive project work, practical workshops, and keynote events. Elevate your risk knowledge, capabilities, and skills across all facets of our program.You’ll   receive lots of opportunities for learning and growth that will optimise your   role performance and career progression. Risk Business Champions, leaders and   mentors will support you during the program experience. We help you achieve a   banking qualification to develop crucial acumen that will enable you to add   value in an ethical and professional way throughout your career.

A dedicated Risk Learning team makes it easy for you to manage your professional development. From building people skills to effectively interacting in teams, to developing deep technical knowledge and skills in Risk you’ll have access to a complete learning offering to set you up for success in Risk.
