About the Role

BDO is one of the world’s leading audit, accounting, advisory and consulting firms. We provide a range of services to clients of all sizes and industries across Australia.

Join our Graduate Program as a Graduate Consultant within our Indirect Tax team, starting January 2027.

Every business transaction has a tax impact. Whether it's purchasing property, expanding into new markets, restructuring operations, acquiring another business or responding to changing legislation, organisations need specialist advice to understand their obligations and opportunities.

Our Indirect Tax team helps clients navigate complex tax issues including GST, stamp duty, land tax and payroll tax. We work with organisations across a wide range of industries, helping them manage risk, maintain compliance and make informed commercial decisions.

Why Choose Indirect Tax?

Indirect Tax is ideal for graduates who enjoy problem-solving, research and understanding how business decisions work in practice.

Indirect Tax sits at the intersection of business, law and strategy. You'll work on real commercial transactions, interpret legislation and help clients understand the impact of complex tax rules on their operations.

One of the things that makes Indirect Tax unique is the breadth of work you'll be exposed to.

You could find yourself helping:

  • A property developer understand the tax implications of a major development
  • A retailer manage GST across thousands of transactions
  • A global organisation entering the Australian market
  • A business buying or selling another company
  • A government organisation navigate complex tax obligations

Because tax impacts almost every business decision, Indirect Tax specialists are often involved early in the planning and decision-making process, helping clients understand risks, identify opportunities and make informed commercial decisions.

This variety means you'll develop specialist technical expertise while gaining exposure to a broad range of industries, organisations and commercial transactions.
