ASSETS/MAPPING OFFICER

An opportunity exists for a highly motivated and enthusiastic person with great attention to detail to join our Engineering and Environmental Services team. The role includes conducting asset inspections, developing capital works programs and advising senior management regarding the management of all Council’s assets. Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain Council’s asset information: a) Collect asset data by defect and condition inspections, including management of consultants to collect data. b) Prepare and maintain councils Asset Management Plans. c) Assist in the preparation, management and monitoring of Council’s valuations, renewal gap and budget information. d) Assist with the establishment and on-going review of annual operational/maintenance works in consultation with other Engineering and Environmental Services staff. e) Provide information and reports on asset data as requested. f) Condition rate Council’s physical assets in accordance with best practice Develop and maintain the GIS and mapping system: a) Maintain all functions of the Council’s spatial datasets systems, including property, cadastral and assets. b) Provide advice and support to users of GIS applications. c) Co-ordinate and capture additional spatial information as requested by Council departments. d) Prepare zoning plans for Environmental Services. e) Provide in-house basic GIS and mapping training. f) Act as a custodian for all Council’s spatial information, managing standards, security and integrity of data. g) Participate in the initiation and expansion of hand-held computing, mobile GIS technology and asset information and associated technology. Administrative duties: a) Provide accurate and timely administrative support to the Director of Engineering and Environmental Services as required.
