To be successful in this role you will bring a positive attitude, be solutions focussed and have a willingness to learn and grow. We are currently seeking Engineering graduates or those close to completing their studies in either Chemical, Environmental or Civil Engineering for multiple opportunities within our Water & Waste Directorate, to participate in a unique career development program that exposes participants to varied disciplines of engineering across three directorates. This opportunity will see you working across the Headworks, Distribution and the Projects and Services divisions initially, working on critical infrastructure realted to water supply and leading the investigation and delivery of alternate and additional water sources, focusing on environmental sustainability.

Sink your teeth into some exciting projects such as the building of water mains, the roll out of Smart Water Meters and investigate how Council can reduce water losses across the water network through leak management.

The Engineer role is responsible for:

  • Project Management and delivery within each rotation
  • Administrering and supervising works, maintenance contracts and contractors
  • Organising resources and activities to meet deadlines and service standards

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED

  • A 4 year degree in Chemical, Environmental or Civil Engineering (or nearing completion) or equivalent qualification
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills and the ability to work effectively with a broad range of stakeholders
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage projects and people in order to meet deadlines
  • A high level of autonomy and initiative, with a drive to succeed

Salary range: Grade 16-19 - $97,372.10 - $126,203.79 per annum inclusive of superannuation and a leaseback vehicle for a 35 hour work week. A Civil Liability Allowance of 3.5% will be added to the base salary. Salary may be negotiated based on skills, experience and your value to our organisation.

Flexible working arrangements will be considered by mutual agreement and according to operational requirements.
