The Position The Graduate Planner will work collaboratively with the Planning and Development Services team to ensure the assessment of development applications and relevant land use matters are processed in accordance with the relevant legislation and required timeframes. They will be responsible to the Principal Planner for development, land tenure matters and compliance. About You Ideally you will possess a high level of ability to prepare and present reports and submissions of a complex and substantial nature and to formulate recommendations. You will also have an understanding or ability to rapidly acquire a level of understanding of all Acts, Regulations, and Local Laws relating to planning and development issues as well as the ability to accurately interpret the Council’s planning scheme and policies. You will have experience in developing and maintaining positive working relationships with diverse groups and people within public and private sectors, and the wider community, strong decision making ability and be able to work independently and manage time on planning applications Additionally, you will possess well developed computer skills, a familiarity with performance and IPA based planning schemes and possess a degree or graduate diploma in land use planning and be eligible to be a member of the Planning Institute of Australia.
