A little bit more about Accelerator Graduate Program….

Location: Sydney

The purpose of the Satellite business division is to build out the new operating model (“Accelerator model”) and drive profitable growth in our existing Coles Insurance portfolio, to enable the Group to win in the rapidly evolving insurance market. The Accelerator Model has launched a new direct to market brand, Poncho Insurance, allowing us to test out our new technology and new product features.

Satellite is not an incubator. It’s an end to end business already running at scale and being built out to take the best new thinking, talent, ways of working and technology and join this with some of IAG’s competitive advantages e.g. data, scale, supply chain, capital and risk management.

We will be looking for candidates who have demonstrated their abilities in problem solving, critical thinking and effective communications across the four teams below, with opportunities to rotate between Data & Analytics team, Pricing and Portfolio.

Digital: We are looking for a Product Analyst who will be work in collaboration with designers and engineers to develop, launch and grow digital solutions. We are looking for the right person to:

  • Provide insights on products, technologies and market trends
  • Conduct user / market research
  • Define business requirements
  • Design user stories, customer experiences and roadmaps
  • Apply Agile and Lean methodologies to optimise product development
  • Collect user feedback, improve products

Data & Analytics: utilise advanced exploratory analytics over large datasets (we will be looking to test integrating a lot of external datasets and APIs) in order to achieve:

  • Better pricing
  • Better customer experience
  • Better business outcomes
  • Utilisation of IoT, external ML/AI tools (like NLP, sentiment analysis, image and video detection and decomposition).

We also aim to achieve process automation through Neural Networks and process optimisation through machine learning. We love our coding and use a variety of programming languages to make things happen e.g. Python/R/SQL. We are looking for candidates with an analytical background including but not limited to: Mathematics, Programming or Engineering.

Pricing: is responsible for determining the appropriate statistical, street and actual price for an individual risk and for the portfolio. We are responsible for identifying and forecasting risks and opportunities and implement solutions to execute the strategic goals of the portfolio. Preference for candidates with an analytical background including: Actuarial, Finance, Mathematics.

Portfolio: We help drive outcomes for the business by prioritising initiatives across the needs of our customers, shareholders and employees. Using your analytical abilities, communication skills and critical thinking, you’ll lead the business by providing data-led insights on performance, support strategic business initiatives and look for operational improvement opportunities. We don’t mind what degree you’ve completed but you should be comfortable with interpreting financial information or willing to learn.
