What does the job look like?

Are you currently studying transport, logistics, supply chain or a related discipline and keen to get hands‑on experience with one of Australia’s largest logistics providers?

As a Fleet Allocator within our Intermodal business located at Acacia Ridge, you’ll be at the centre of daily operations at Linfox—helping coordinate fleet movements and supporting the safe, on‑time delivery of freight across our network. This is a fantastic opportunity to build real‑world experience alongside structured support, training and career development.

We have multiple permanent opportunities available, either full‑time or part‑time, with flexibility to suit your study commitment.

Shift options include:

  • Thursday to Monday: 5:00am – 1:00pm on Saturdays and Sundays
    • Flexible day shift hours during the week                                                                   
  • Monday to Friday: 8:00am – 4:00pm
    • Some flexibility required to support afternoon or night shift coverage during planned leave

Key areas: 

  • Coordinate and allocate fleet resources to meet operational, commercial and customer requirements
  • Manage bookings, paperwork and delivery documentation to enable accurate service delivery
  • Update job requests in SAP and support operational reporting and KPI data
  • Monitor fleet deployment and utilisation in real time, escalating service or safety issues as required
  • Complete regular yard walks and conduct compliance & safety checks
  • Proactively communicate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure service requirements and updates are provided efficiently 

 Are you the one?

You’re motivated, organised and interested in building a career in Transport/Logistics operations. You’re comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment and enjoy learning how large‑scale operations run day‑to‑day. You can demonstrate:

  • Currently studying or recently completed studies in Transport, Logistics, Supply Chain
  • A genuine interest in transport operations, fleet allocation or scheduling
  • Understanding of Chain of Responsibility, fatigue management and heavy vehicle compliance
  • A strong safety mindset and uphold Linfox’s Vision Zero safety culture
  • Confidence using technology and systems
  • Clear communication skills and a customer‑focused approach
