About Technology and Solutions 

The Tech and Solutions team at nbn are responsible for delivering the nbn® network technology innovation roadmap and network solutions, ensuring efficient and cost-effective network deployment.  

Our team is the central innovation hub of nbn, shapes the 10-year technical strategic direction, integrating network and product roadmaps, and developing end-to-end architecture and technology sequences. We design solution architectures for wireline access, core networks, network security and network management systems, and deliver network automation programs to boost efficiency and innovation.  

We also engage in network modelling and forecasting to predict future demands and optimise resources. Our team collaborates with universities on research projects to incorporate cutting-edge advancements into our solutions. 

Internship opportunities are available in our Melbourne . 

What we look for in a Technology and Solutions intern 

We’re looking for students with a strong interest and passion for innovation and technology, particularly in network engineering and Robotics. If you're eager to build a technical career and have a keen interest in networks, systems architecture, and fibre technologies, this internship is a great opportunity to get started.  

Ideal candidates are proactive thinkers with strong analytical and critical thinking skills. You will enjoy collaborating with diverse teams to develop solutions, and be able to communicate technical concepts clearly to different audiences. Experience with coding and programming languages such as Java, Python, or R is highly valued.  

While we welcome students from all academic backgrounds, those studying Telecommunications, Software Engineering, Networking, Statistics, Mechatronics or Computer Science are especially encouraged to apply.  

To be eligible for the program, you must meet the below eligibility criteria: 

  • You are a Citizen of Australia / New Zealand, or an Australian permanent resident; and  
  • You are in your second last year of university; and 
  • You are available to commence full time work from 3 November 2025 through to 6 February 2026.
