DECARBONISING EXISTING BUILDINGS
The 2024 Envision program will focus on a targeted response to decarbonising existing buildings, including heritage listed places. We will research opportunities and constraints associated with adaptive reuse, investigate the latest advancements in building decarbonisation, and use case studies to communicate ideas and findings. An important aspect of the research will be the focus on decarbonising heritage places. The intention is to gain best practice knowledge of how heritage and sustainability can work hand in hand.
REAL PROJECTS
A studio project is completed over the duration of the program, involving intensive research followed by design experimentation, culminating in the production and presentation of a formal publication.
THE INDUSTRY
Students have the opportunity to engage with user groups and key members of relevant industries throughout the program to inform their designs.
You will be mentored by senior professionals at NBRS to research a defined brief/topic. You will meet with industry experts and stakeholders to explore the hypothesis and prepare a research report.
