About the role:

As a graduate in the fire protection team, you will be exposed to essential building systems that aim to protect buildings and occupants in emergencies. You will be involved in the design of engineering systems such as sprinklers, hydrants, hose reels, extinguishers, detection, and occupant warning systems. You will be expected to liaise with various stakeholders and designers on projects. This includes other engineers such as mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, civil, structural, and fire safety engineers; and also external parties such as the architect, contractors, building authorities, and the relevant fire brigade. To support your growth, you will gain site exposure on various projects to provide you with real-world experience in the industry. 

We work on the most technically challenging and iconic projects in the country, including super high-rise towers, prisons, hospitals, laboratories, defence projects, retail and commercial developments, and education precincts. You will be supported by world-class engineers in the industry as you build your engineering consulting experience with us.

As a graduate in the hydraulics team, you will be exposed to important building systems that provide buildings with water supply and drainage. You will be involved in the design of engineering systems such as potable and non-potable water supply, sanitary drainage, stormwater/roof drainage, rainwater harvesting, and recycled water systems. You will be expected to liaise with various stakeholders and designers on projects. This includes other engineers such as mechanical, electrical, fire protection, civil, structural, and fire safety engineers; and also external parties such as the architect, contractors, and relevant building and water authorities. To support your growth, you will gain site exposure on various projects to provide you with real-world experience in the industry.

**This is a multidiscipline role so you be exposed to and trained in both Hydraulics & Fire Protection disciplines

You'll need to include your academic achievement, personal information, career motivation, employment history, extenuating circumstances, language skills, extra-curricular activities and interests. We ask for this extra detail because we're not just looking for great engineers, we're looking of great people. 
  2. If you're shortlisted you will be invited to the cognitive ability assessments. These are are designed to test your verbal, numerical, and logical reasoning skills. 
  3. Once you get past the cognitive ability test we ask you to undertake a behavioral assessment. This will help us to understand your work style preferences and areas for development.
  4. If you are shortlisted after the behavioral assessment we'll invite you to a video interview where you will have the opportunity to tell us a bit more about yourself.
  5. This is the final step in this stage of the recruitment process. If you're shortlisted, you will be invited to an assessment centre session.
  6. Assessment Centre and Interviews: Graduates progressing to this stage will be invited to attend a virtual assessment centre. The virtual assessment centre will consist of a series of group activities and individual activities where members of the NDY team will assess performance.
  7. Face to Face meet & greet is the final stage of our process is to invite you into our offices to show you around, introduce you to our teams and have a sit-down meet & greet to ensure your career aspirations and interests align with NDY’s Grad Program. 

Offer Stage:

You will receive a call from our Graduate Manager to inform you of the outcome.

Before applying for the program, please ensure you meet our eligibility requirements. You must be:  

  • An Australian Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident, New Zealand Citizen, or New Zealand Permanent Resident at the time of submitting this application
  • You must have completed your undergraduate or postgraduate degree within the last three years of the program start date (ie 2021, 2022, 2023, or January 2024)
  • You must be eligible to commence full-time employment in February 2024
  • You must be willing to relocate to the role location you are applying to
  • Have a credit or above GPA
