About the role:

Rabobank’s Global Service Centre, Asia Pacific, based in Sydney, provides operational support to Wholesale & Treasury businesses & their clients across the Asia Pacific region. The Lending & Agency team within Corporate Banking Services performs all aspects of loan processing, reconciliation, fees, settlement & confirmations processes.

As Officer, you will play a key role in delivering accurate, timely, & compliant payment & account services for Wholesale Banking clients across the Asia Pacific region.  Operating within a regional market environment - supporting Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong & Singapore - the role ensures smooth execution of domestic & cross border transactions & upholds the bank’s commitment to secure & reliable payment operations.  

The team works Monday to Friday from 12:30pm to 9pm so you must be willing & able to work hours these hours to support the Asia time zone.  As we have a hybrid work environment, you will work a mix of days in the office & days from home.

Top Role Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

• Monitor end-to-end transaction flows & resolve issues promptly to minimise disruption
• Maintain high standards of accuracy, completeness, timeliness and reliability in all operational activities within SLAs
• Monitor system interfaces to ensure accurate transaction input and lifecycle integrity.
• Investigate, resolve, & escalate cash, system, transactional, data, & reconciliation breaks.
• Respond to payment & transaction-related inquiries in a timely manner.
• Provide clients with guidance on payment formats, cut-off times, & regulatory requirements
• Support onboarding activities, ensuring correct setup of accounts & payment channels.
• Manage a client portfolio or asset class as part of team rotation.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies & external regulations (AML, Sanctions)

To Be Successful, you will have:

• 2+ years’ experience in an operations role within Corporate, Wholesale or Institutional Banking
• Knowledge of Wholesale Banking products including, Corporate Lending products, Trade & Commodity Finance, Value Chain Finance.
• Knowledge of settlements & payments systems (SWIFT, RTGS, FPS, CNAPS, Direct Entry)
• Excellent attention to detail & an ability to work to a high level of accuracy
• Strong communication & stakeholder management skills
• An ability to prioritise, manage pressure, & meet strict deadlines
• Customer-focused mindset with a proactive, problem-solving approach
• Previous experience supporting countries within Asia Pacific highly regarded
• Mandarin or Cantonese language skills highly regarded
• Willingness & ability to work 12:30pm - 9pm Monday to Friday (mix of in office & at home)
