The Role

We are seeking Graduates with a passion for transport and shaping the current and future journeys we encounter in our daily lives. If you are an Engineering, Mathematics, Science or Economics student that has a mind for data, likes to understand how systems work and want to work in a field that has long term impact, this opportunity may be for you.

SMEC’s Transport Planning & Advisory business plans, designs and builds smart cities and utilises data analytics, simulations, intelligent transport systems (ITS) technology and AI to drive innovative solutions and safer, more efficient travel across all transport modes from roads to rail to freight and everything in between.

Our Graduates will support the delivery of local and interstate projects covering everything from advising on future transport projects, transport modelling, transport planning, traffic engineering, to programming and analytics. You will be supported by senior mentors that are experts in their field and be part of a thriving and diverse team. We have positions available in Adelaide and Sydney, with opportunities to travel and work in other locations throughout your career.

This role would be looking to start during (or before) June 2023 depending on discussions between you, your recruiter, and the Transport Planning & Advisory team.

About You

  • Curious about cities and how people navigate them
  • Developed skills and knowledge in analytical methods, tools and principles
  • Sound ability to gather, compile and interpret data
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

In return, SMEC offers you the benefits that come from working in a global multidisciplinary consultancy in an environment where your fresh ideas and enthusiasm will be welcomed and rewarded.
