Do you want to make a difference in an exciting, emerging industry where you can shape opinions and contribute to industry positions?

This is a role with a real opportunity for growth and for someone ready to take the next step in their career, where you will be working with a highly experienced and supportive team comprising General Manager, Policy and Advocacy Manager, President and Board.

Our goal is to become the first port of call for comment, opinion and policy advice in the residential and commercial property industry and to raise the industry profile within the property sector and within the community as a whole.

The Role:

  • Drafting and submitting position papers on NSW-specific strata issues to industry and government and industry.
  • Securing and attending in-person and online advocacy meetings with government and industry stakeholders.
  • Cultivating collaborative working relationships with industry and government by proactively monitoring legislative, regulatory and administrative developments in the property and housing spaces.
  • Conducting or overseeing research that contributes to our advocacy work in NSW.
  • Assist the management of a public relations firm in their role as they distribute media releases, pitches and opinion pieces.
  • Write communications materials including NSW President / CEO reports, social media content, newsletter articles, editorials and opinion pieces, advertorial content and other communications as required.
  • Work in a hybrid role with the majority of time spent in office in NSW in a tight-knit, high-achieving policy and advocacy team.

About You:

  • You live in and know NSW and have knowledge of the NSW political, policy and government processes.
  • Graduate candidates with suitable degrees in areas such as political science, economics or public affairs.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • The ability to synthesise high volumes of complicated information and disseminate in a coherent manner.
  • An understanding of the issues facing the resident and commercial property sector in NSW, or the ability to rapidly acquire issues-based understanding.
  • An understanding of government structures and processes in NSW and a keen interest in politics and policy.

Above all we seek someone who is comfortable working in a small, close knit team, has the ability to work autonomously, and has a genuine "can do" attitude. Our office is based close to local shops and public transport.
