- Civil & Structural Engineering
To be eligible for the Ventia Graduate Program, you must meet the following criteria:
- Successfully completed relevant undergraduate degree in the last two years or be in your final semester of study.
- Hold Australian or New Zealand citizenship, Permanent residency, or Graduate Visa 485 (valid until the end of 2028).
- Willingness to travel and relocate for the duration of the rotation.
Responsibilities
- Support the design, assessment, and maintenance of infrastructure assets to improve safety, reliability, and long-term performance.
- Assist with engineering calculations, technical reports, scopes of work, drawings, models, and design documentation to support project delivery.
- Participate in site inspections, condition assessments, investigations, and risk assessments to inform engineering solutions and project outcomes.
- Contribute to design reviews and Safety in Design activities, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, codes, and project requirements.
- Collaborate with engineers, project teams, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams throughout the project lifecycle while developing technical and professional skills through hands-on experience, structured rotations, and continuous learning.
Skills & Requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply civil and structural engineering principles to practical infrastructure and asset management challenges.
- Effective communication, stakeholder engagement, and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and project environments.
- Highly organised, adaptable, and accountable, with the ability to manage competing priorities and contribute to multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail and delivering high-quality outcomes.
- Understanding of civil or structural engineering design principles gained through study, project work, internships, or practical experience; experience with engineering and design software such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Space GASS, IDEA StatiCa, or similar tools is highly regarded.
- Demonstrated initiative, curiosity, and commitment to continuous learning through leadership, extracurricular activities, certifications, competitions, personal projects, or industry experience. Minimum academic achievement: Credit average (GPA 5.0/7.0 or equivalent).
