The Opportunity

An amazing graduate opportunity in our Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) team where you will support staff in our facilities to deliver safe operations.

This hands-on role will suit someone with a curious mindset and a strong desire to collaborate with others to deliver results. This role offers an excellent opportunity to continue your career development in a high-risk industry while really making a difference to the health and safety of those around you.  You would be supporting the HSSE team in the following areas:

Supports the site Operations Managers, to ensure the integrity of the Viva Energy HSSE Management System is maintained at each location;

• Monitors compliance with site “licence to operate” obligations;
• Participates in safety risk assessments, hazard evaluations and bowtie reviews to determine effectiveness of, and identify improvements to, risk controls;
• Monitors completion of local assurance plans and participates in national assurance activities; supports the review of output from self-assessment audits, and support resulting continuous improvement initiatives;
• Offers support with the effective implementation of HSSE critical processes;
• Prepares safety reports and consolidates performance management reporting;
• Provides support in the process of site incident investigations; proposes subsequent recommendations and/or actions.

Eligibility Criteria

• You will be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or hold permanent residency at the time of application
• You will have completed the relevant undergraduate degree (within the past 2 years) and before commencing the program
• You will have completed an undergraduate or post-graduate degree in the Occupational, Health, Safety and Science disciplines, or similar
