Your New Role

Start your career with Westpac’s Business & Wealth Graduate Program. Gain hands-on experience from day one and help support real customers, businesses and communities.

We build trusted relationships with customers and support their goals, growth and financial wellbeing. We use data and insights to deliver simple solutions that meet real customer needs.

You’ll work with teams that help businesses grow, support customers and shape the future of banking.

What can you expect as a Business & Wealth Graduate?

This is a 15-month program with 3 x 5-month rotations.

Over 15 months, you’ll complete structured placements that help you build your capability and confidence across different teams.

You’ll have the opportunity to gain experience across a range of teams in Business & Wealth, including:

• SME & Small Business - supporting small business customers and how they grow
• Commercial Banking - working with larger and more complex businesses
• Private Wealth - supporting clients with their banking and wealth needs
• Business Lending - learning how finance supports business growth
• Business Transaction Banking - helping businesses manage payments and cashflow
• Specialised Sales - gaining exposure to specialist customer segments
• Chief Operating Office - building experience in strategy and insights
• Pacific Banking - gaining exposure to customers and communities across Pacific markets

You’ll work on real tasks that support customers and teams. You’ll build practical skills across different parts of the business. This gives you the chance to explore your options and find the path that suits you.

Future Career Opportunities

This program can lead to a wide range of opportunities across Business & Wealth. Depending on your interests and experience, you may move into customer-facing roles, product roles or business support roles.

Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for graduates who are curious, motivated and ready to make a real impact.

We strongly encourage applications from all education backgrounds who are interested in building a career in Business & Wealth. However, graduates with Commerce / Business (Finance, Economics, Accounting, Banking), Technology, Data or Engineering, Property / Real Estate, Marketing / Communications degrees tend to be well suited to this stream.

An interest in digital, data and new technology, including AI, is important as these are changing how we support customers and deliver better outcomes.

Strong communication skills, curiosity and the ability to work well with others are key. You should be able to think through problems, adapt to change and take ownership of your work.

Locations

This program is offered in Sydney, Melbourne & Brisbane.

Eligibility

• You must be in your final year of study of a university degree, or
• You have completed an undergraduate or postgraduate degree, but it must be no more than three years ago.
• You also need to be an Australian or New Zealand Citizen or an Australian Permanent Resident when you apply.

You will need to be available to start with us as a permanent employee in February 2027.
