We’re looking to fill our programs with original thinkers and innovators from all degrees of study.  Challenging and rewarding – our programs will get your career off to a flying start.

Your New Role

Kickstart your career in Westpac’s Data, Digital and AI Division and help shape how millions of Australians experience banking every single day.

As a graduate in Data, Digital and AI, you’ll design, build and deploy intelligent data, digital and AI powered solutions to our customers and bankers; powering exceptional customer experiences and driving real change.

We use data and AI to make everyday banking simpler, smarter, safer and more personal for our customers; helping shape the future of how Australians bank.

From machine learning models to Gen-AI and Agentic applications, we solve complex problems that deliver real impact for customers and colleagues across the bank.

You'll tackle real business challenges, building data, digital and AI solutions as we work towards our ambition to become the most intelligent and best digital bank in the galaxy.

What can you expect as a Data, Digital and AI Graduate?

This is a 12-program where you’ll be embedded within business squads gaining hands-on experience from day one while shaping your own career direction.

Halfway through, you’ll have the opportunity move into a new squad within the Data, Digital and AI Division - broadening your experience and deepening your expertise.

The Data, Digital and AI Graduate (DDAI) program offers two specialist pathways – aligned to your unique skills, interests and future career goals:

AI Science

As a graduate AI Scientist, you’ll turn data into intelligence from day one – building, training and deploying machine learning, Gen-AI and agentic models that go live for real customers and colleagues. Bring your Python, problem-solving and curiosity; we'll put it to work on real AI challenges at scale.

AI Digital

As an AI Digital graduate, you’ll help reimagine and elevate the digital banking experience for our customers. You'll gain hands-on experience across digital product delivery, product ownership, service and experience design, and data analytics.

Throughout the program, you’ll be supported by senior leaders and technical mentors, working on meaningful projects that accelerate your development and growth.  You’ll also be part of a strong DDAI graduate community, a built-in network for learning, collaboration and growth from day one.

Future Career Opportunities

Build a future-proof career in one of the fastest-growing fields in technology and banking.  You’ll develop in-demand skills that set you up for long-term success across Westpac’s Data, Digital and AI Division.

Career pathways include (depending on your stream and specialisation):

  • AI Scientist
  • Digital Product Development and Delivery
  • Service and/or Experience Design
  • Analyst
  • …and many more across DDAI.

Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for curious, future-focused thinkers who are genuinely excited about the possibilities of data, digital and AI.

You thrive in fast-moving, collaborative environments. You enjoy learning quickly, experimenting with new ideas, and building real solutions that customers and bankers will use.

We value diverse perspectives, backgrounds and experiences. What sets you apart is your ability to think critically, problem-solve creatively, and use data, digital and AI solutions to drive real impact.

For graduates in the AI Science stream, these technical skills are also highly valued:
