Your New Role

Technology drives modern banking, and Westpac Institutional Bank (WIB) Technology plays a critical role in shaping cutting-edge financial solutions that power global markets. This program offers exposure to digital transformation, automation, and advanced engineering in persistent team model, ensuring long-term impact and meaningful career development.

As part of the program, you’ll get to witness the action on the trading floor, collaborate with market specialists, and unpack what happens at the heart of institutional banking. Whether it’s building high-performance trading platforms or refining digital infrastructure, your work will directly influence customer and business outcomes.

Over 12 months, you’ll be embedded in a WIB Technology team, gaining expertise in areas such as software engineering, digital solutions, business analysis, and more. Midway through the program, you’ll rotate to another WIB team to broaden your skills and explore new opportunities.

You’ll work closely with mentors, senior leaders, and industry experts who are invested in your success. Plus, you’ll be part of a strong graduate community with access to professional development, networking, and ongoing career support.

You will also need:

• To be in in your final year of study of a university degree, or
• You can have completed an undergraduate or postgraduate degree, but it must be no more than three years ago.
• You also need to be an Australian or New Zealand Citizen or an Australian Permanent Resident when you apply.
