Hear what some of our current Cadets have to say…

"In my time so far with Yancoal I’ve met such hardworking humble people, everyone is so kind and willing to share their knowledge. I’ve loved getting out in the field and seeing first hand how exploration geologists data collection and analysis is essential to efficient and effective mine planning and outcomes"
Laura, Geology Cadet based at Mount Thorley from Lambton High

“Being a part of the Yancoal cadet program has allowed me to utilise my problem solving skills and build up my experience which is essential to have a successful career in mining. I have really enjoyed feeling part of a team.”
Luke, Geology Cadet based at Mount Thorley from Glendale Technology High School

“The most valuable part to me for this opportunity is the ability to interact with real mining engineers on site and being involved in meetings with them. It has shown me exactly what is involved in the job and helps build my career for the future.”
Zac, Mining Engineer Cadet at Ashton from MacKillop College

“The Cadetship program has allowed me to gain hands on experience and letting me feel like I am making a difference. The program is flexible with my university timetable, which has helped a lot. I have already met so many hard-working people who have been happy to help and answer any questions I have. I would recommend this program to anyone interested in exploring a career in engineering”
