As a member of the fourth group of Chinese-Australian adoptees under the one-child policy, I am passionate about embracing all opportunities and maintaining a growth mindset. I am currently undertaking a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) and Bachelor of Laws at Macquarie University. When I am not studying, I thoroughly enjoy participating in law society competitions, the most recent being the Australian Law Students’ Association Negotiation in July this year. In my spare time, I am the Vice-President of the Business Society, a volunteer with Girl Guides Australia and passionate tennis player.

Alongside his law degree, Marlan acquired national accreditation as a mediator, completed an Advanced Diploma of Conveyancing and a Graduate Diploma of Family Dispute Resolution Practice. Marlan is passionate about property law and dispute resolution and has founded his own conveyancing firm and pro-bono private family mediation practice. In the future, Marlan has aspirations of working in commercial property law and real estate.

Derick is a combined law and business student at the University of Technology Sydney. He is expected to graduate with First Class Honours and is also completing an academic program at Harvard University. Derick works full-time at APP Corporation as an Assistant Project Manager and has been involved in managing a number of high-profile development and infrastructure projects. He also works as an academic tutor at UTS and teaches a number of undergraduate subjects. He was a finalist for the NSW Volunteer of the Year, NSW/ACT Young Achiever of the Year and was St John Ambulance's Member of the Year.

Driven by a keen interest in how the law adapts and responds to change, she has previously won and been a national finalist in competitions tackling legal innovation and technology and the impact of automation on the legal industry.
