2025 ANZ Graduate Program (First Nations Applications only)

AI Job Summary

Get to where you need to be. Sooner

ANZ’s award-winning graduate program is designed to fast-track the career you have been working so hard towards. All grads are hand-picked to fill a specific opening within the business so are in the driver’s seat from day one. And when you cross the finishing line 18 months later there will be a job waiting in an area of your choice. Along with a generous boost to your already healthy starting salary.

Things move fast at ANZ as we’re doing the important work that only one of Australia’s biggest banks with a global network can tackle. It won’t take you long to realise you’re with good people who are all working towards a common goal. You will be too, but don’t worry - you won’t be expected to have all the answers up front.

Instead, six monthly rotations will open your eyes to what’s possible at ANZ and what’s the best path for you to take. The time you spend on the program will be jam packed with learning and networking opportunities to set you up with the contacts, confidence, and expertise to turbo charge your career.

So don’t delay, because our plans are big - and we want you up front with us!

About the ANZ Graduate Program

You’ll get the chance to rotate through 3 roles in different areas within your chosen stream. You’ll also:

  • get to participate in regular skill development sessions, learning opportunities and one-on-one coffee catch ups throughout the program. There’ll be plenty of interactions with other grads and senior people across ANZ for you to learn from too
  • be part of one big team looking at how we can solve some pretty tricky problems. So you don’t have to know everything and have all the answers
  • work on an interesting grad project in the first 6 months. There’ll be a project sponsor and a project coach to support you, but it’ll be your team’s project to deliver… or fail. And that’s okay too, because we celebrate failures and encourage failing fast and failing often because that’s how you learn!

You have the opportunity to preference the following grad programs with ANZ in the following locations:

  • Agribusiness - Regional locations across Australia
  • Australia Retail - Naarm (Melbourne), Warrane (Sydney), Meanjin (Brisbane)

Activate Your Career

At ANZ our commitment to First Nations employment is a key focus of our Reconciliation Action Plan. And has been ever since we established our first RAP in 2007 (we were the first bank in Australia to have one).  We are continually investing in increasing the social and economic participation for First Nations people by building a culturally professional and safe environment for our people, our communities and our business.

Our RAP highlights:

  • Evolution of Ngarga Wangaddja: Ngarga Wangaddja, meaning ‘mob talking’ in the language of the Narungga People, is ANZ’s First Nations Employee Reference Group. The group, consisting of members from across the country, advises ANZ’s Reconciliation Action Plan governance committees and consults on matters relating to the First Nations employee experience.
  • Supporting Indigenous business through procurement: We spent $11 million with Indigenous businesses in Financial Year 2023. Since the commencement of this RAP in 2021, we have spent over $24 million with Indigenous businesses.
  • Upgraded cultural leave policies: We have extended our bereavement (also known as compassionate) leave and cultural leave. We have also extended the definition of ‘immediate family’ to include Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander kinship roles. Also, employees are given a choice in relation to observing the 26 January public holiday. Employees can opt to work on 26 January and select an alternative day as a substitute public holiday.
  • First Nations representation at the highest level of the business: In 2024 we appointed our first Head of First Nations Strategy, Australia. They report directly to the CEO and will develop and implement the enterprise wide First Nations strategy, be a trusted advisor to the Bank on First Nations issues and opportunities and develop key external relationships with First Nations and Torres Strait Islander communities on behalf of ANZ.

ANZ recognises the value of an inclusive and diverse work environment. We take pride in the diversity of our people and encourage applications from diverse candidates. Our recruitment decisions are based on the key inherent needs and requirements of each role and candidates are selected based on their unique strengths and characteristics.
