The Team – Strategy & Commercial 

The Strategy and Commercial (S&C) Group is a fast paced, customer facing business unit. We provide the single voice to APA’s current and prospective customers and take accountability for responsibly maximising APA’s revenue through effective commercial and risk management processes. We own, develop and execute APA’s commercial strategy aligned to the overall corporate strategy. 

Our overarching goal is to identify and deliver growth for APA.  A graduate in this team may spend a rotation in several of the following key areas: 

  • Strategy and Market Analysis - Responsible for developing a centralised view on the energy market, to inform strategy and decision making for APA 
  • Customer and Commercial – Responsible for developing, negotiating, and managing revenue contracts for APA. 
  • Energy Solutions East – Responsible for identifying and executing greenfield and brownfield opportunities to grow our gas infrastructure business on the east coast. 
  • Corporate Development – Responsible for originating and executing inorganic opportunities to grow the business across all our asset base. 

The APA Graduate Program 

The APA Graduate Program has three main streams within the business where we aim to give Graduates the opportunity to experience the full lifecycle of their chosen discipline, including 1 elective (2-year program offering 4 x 6-month rotations to include 1 elective rotation). Some of the benefits you can expect from being part of the program are: 

  • Support and guidance - a dedicated Early Careers Team / Talent Consultant, Manager and team Buddy aligned to each rotation (changes every 6 months), Mentor in your 2nd year, who will see you through the whole second year of the program and through to your post program transition into the business 
  • Field Trips on site – you can expect at least one per rotation, aligned with the team and type of work you are doing  
  • Professional and Personal Development days twice a year include meeting up with all colleagues in the program 
  • Share Back, Teach Back - share learnings with current rotation manager, peers, or external school / university workshops 
  • Monthly – Graduate Led – catchups with cohorts 
  • YAPA (Your Community in APA) - is the official young professional community of APA, run by young professionals for young professionals. We support those new to industry, new to workforce, and new to APA by providing opportunities for technical and professional development as well as networking and social events.

Eligibility 

  • Commerce, Legal, Economics, Accounting or Business Degree qualified by the end of 2023, and within last 2 years 
  • Be based in Melbourne, Sydney or Perth
  • Willingness to continue your learning journey and be part of a greater national Graduate Team 
  • Able to demonstrate the APA behaviours: Accountable, Collaborative, Courageous, Impactful, Nimble 
  • Available to start your full time career 4 March 2024
