Graduate program salary and super

Once you complete the program, you’ll advance to the next APS level, and get a pay rise! Your salary will be $78,290, plus 15.4% super and, as an APS4 officer within the ATO, you can earn up to $84,971, plus 15.4% super.

What you’ll do 

We take pride in being a data-driven organisation by using analytic capabilities and technologies in smarter ways to improve decisions, services, and compliance. As an ATO Economics graduate, you’ll do work that matters to deliver positive outcomes for the Australian community.  You'll assist with analysing Australian and global economies and taxpaying populations. Your work will in turn assist the organisation to understand the overall economic performance of individual taxpayers and businesses. 

You could: 

  • assist in the collection and interpretation of data from a variety of sources including financial statements and economic data
  • undertake a range of analytical, procedural, operational and administrative activities and apply commonly used financial, econometric or economic analysis techniques
  • assist with economic research and analysis across various markets and topics to help provide a better understanding of taxpayer behaviour and environment.

Who can apply 

To be eligible to apply, you must have completed your university degree within the last five years or be in your final year of study. At the time of commencing our program, you must have completed all your course requirements.  

The program starts in February 2025. You must be an Australian citizen and willing to undergo police, character and health checks as required.
