Applications to join BCG as a Graduate Associate are now open! We look for self-motivated, curious students or recent graduates who are excited by problem-solving and want to have a positive impact on their communities, whether local, national, or global. Thoughts from May, an Engineering  graduate

When I finished my undergrad, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do and didn’t want to commit to being an engineer or economist. I was interested in problem solving, working on different topics, and learning a lot quickly. Separately, I had been involved with case competitions at university and really liked the idea of solving complex business problems. Everything I had heard about BCG promised to deliver all this and more, and it has! 

No project is alike and everyone is so friendly and genuine. We also get some cool exposure to seniors – a month into my career I was sitting in meetings with a CEO of a major retailer in Australia!  

As an Associate, I am usually part of a team delivering a project. There will be a piece of work I ‘own’ and I’ll work with my broader team, the client, partners, and global experts to solve this and make sure it fits into a broader story. I’ve been surprised at when I’ve been able to use parts of my degree, including at a client site when and I recognised processes from my chemical engineering background, and a project where I was able to use knowledge from my hydrogen honours!

Your extra-curricular activities, whether on campus or outside of university life. This could be your involvement in a student society, volunteering, sports, or hobbies. We are looking for people who demonstrate passion, impact, and high levels of commitment, initiative, and responsibility. 
• Any achievements that make you proud. We understand that achievements are contextual to your environment, but we’d love to hear what yours are! This could be anything from scholarships or prizes that you’ve attained to overcoming significant struggles or being the first in your family to attend university.

We encourage you to place one of our offices (Auckland, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth, or Sydney) as your first preference to be considered for our Graduate Associate Program.
