Role Expectations for a 'Team Assistant' within Corporate Finance:
- Client on-boarding
- The set-up of opportunities, matters and notes on APS
- Conflict checks
- Client off-boarding
- Billing and signing off fees
- Client satisfaction surveys
- Ensuring precedent data recorded properly
- Attend CF management conference
- Assist organise team events, morning teas and national conferences
- First point of contact for shared services (e.g. clients and markets, IT, finance, people and culture) in relation to CF
- Workplace: Visa coding and payment to suppliers
- Work closely with Casual Analysts
Key Responsibilities
Inform the team of your movements (particularly on days not expected to be in the office) in relevant way (such as email auto-reply)
Confirm the deadlines for the work you are given and use this to prioritise if you have further capacity to help others
Ensure you are available and complete to an appropriate standard any work that is assigned to you, and you agreed to complete
Willing to assist with other teams in the broader firm such as forensic services, business restructuring, project and infrastructure advisory in order to gain a holistic experience of the broader accounting/finance industry
What you’ll offer:
In their first or second year of study (however, open to candidates outside this range who understand this position is an admin role and NOTclient-work focussed initially)
Studying a relevant degree (e.g., accounting, finance, commerce etc.)
The ideal candidates would have the following traits:
- Strong organisational skills
- The ability to think critically, challenge assumptions and solve problems
- Professional presentation with a friendly manner and proactive attitude
- Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills
- Professionalism, confidentiality and discretion
An ideal candidate would do admin work only for the first 12-18 months of their tenure at BDO, after which time they have performed to a level that allows them to move up and do client-facing work
