Mechanical Engineering Intern

The successful intern would get exposure to the following duties:

1. Contract Administrator (Project set up, Claims & Reporting)

• Read the contract thoroughly and make a schedule of all contract requirements that are required for the project.
• Prepare a procurement schedule with all supplier and subcontractor packages.
• Ensure all tenders include everything within the tender.
• Undertake a quote comparison for each package in Excel format for approval from senior management.
• Claims must be prepared and ready for senior management comments by the 23rd of each month.
• The claims document to senior management must have an attachment with all payables for the month.
• A single spreadsheet will be sent to the CAs for approval of all invoices.
• Monthly financial reporting needs to be completed and added to a monthly report, which needs to be sent to senior management two days before the end of the month.
• A project forecast needs to be attached to the report that has been updated.

2.  Estimator

• Coordinate assigned tender or bid submissions, ensuring they receive an appropriate amount of attention from the relevant parties and are submitted on time.
• Undertake measurement, pricing, and comparative analysis for assigned tenders or bids.
• Develop project programs for assigned tenders or bids.
• Coordinate with the construction, as appropriate to ensure resident skills are used to develop the best possible tender or bid.
• Manage the selection of subcontractors to submit quotes on assigned tenders or bids, including sending out requirements to those selected, following-up on their progress, and reviewing final submissions.
• Bid or tender review, Hand-over and design meetings
• Post tender negotiations
