Our South Queensland Business is currently looking for a hard-working and passionate Graduate Civil or Environmental Engineer to join our growing Water Infrastructure team. The team combines civil, mechanical and process principles to solve problems in the water sector. They are involved in a range of projects including water and wastewater treatment, reticulation, pipeline and pump station design, and linear infrastructure. The team is engaged with these projects throughout different project phases including options studies, feasibility assessments, concept design and detailed design.

You will play a pivotal role leading the successful technical delivery of water infrastructure projects for our clients, supported by our team of passionate engineers, planners, designers and technical specialists. 

What will you do in the role?

  • Assist with the development of proposals and technical documents (reports and designs) related to a range of water infrastructure projects (including water and wastewater treatment, reticulation, pump stations and reservoirs) 
  • Work closely with a range of engineers and designers on the production of deliverables.
  • Work across South Queensland projects and collaborate with other GHD offices accordingly.
  • You will be expected to work across a range of disciplines including transport planning, drainage, pavements, geotech, construction management etc. to ensure integration and completeness of design production.
  • Assist with the management of projects through program, quality and financial tools.
  • Engage with the broader industry through organisations such as Engineers Australia.
  • Be actively working toward RPEQ registration.

We’re looking for individuals who:

  • Have recently graduated or will graduate at the end of 2024 with a degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • Are passionate about the consulting industry.
  • Have strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Have a strong desire to learn and take on challenges.
  • Any prior experience in an engineering environment will be highly regarded.

What does the rest of GHD’s process look like?

Once we receive your application, it will be reviewed by one of our Talent Acquisition team members who manage each of our regions.   From there, the rest of our recruitment process includes:

  • A Video Interview, where you’ll get the chance to introduce yourself and make another positive impression on both our TA team and hiring managers.
  • Formal interviews, either in person or via MS Teams.  Prior to our interview we’ll also ask you to go through some online testing through one of our providers, Saville.
  • An offer, where we’ll go through your salary package and the start date for our program, as well as flagging our background checking process.
