Focused on developing Operational Leaders, you will be exposed to one of our business units: Aggregates (Quarrying), Concrete (Production) or Humes (civil precast concrete manufacturer).

Commencing in February 2024, our 12 month program consists of four, three month blocks tailored to both your interests and business needs. Moving across various sites, you will experience different places, people and functions in real jobs working on real projects.

The Holcim Graduate program is an opportunity to experience and learn the various business divisions of Holcim Australia and New Zealand. The program incorporates the various personal, professional, technical and divisional-specific skills required as an operational employee and potential leader within Holcim. The 12-month program tailored to both your interests and Holcim's business requirements. Moving across various sites, you will experience different places, people and functions in real jobs working on real projects. The program will see you work across multiple locations and may require you to travel to some of our regional sites. 

Aggregates

Holcim Aggregates Business is one of the largest integrated suppliers and manufacturers of building materials and solutions in Australia. Aggregates operate hard rock, sand and gravel quarries. These quarry materials are used as key ingredients in the manufacturer of products like concrete and asphalt, which are essential construction materials. They help build homes, schools, hospitals, factories, water or sewerage systems, railways and roads.

Our Aggregates business unit is focused on quarrying and within your rotations you will gain insight into the operational, technical, business and project aspects of the business. 

You will gain onsite experience understanding around crushing and screening, drill & blast activity and all load and haul operations.

• NSW - Albion Park
• QLD - Beenleigh, Petrie & Nerimbera
• VIC - Oaklands Junction 
• WA - Gosnells Quarry 
• NZ - Dunedin, Wellington, Lyttleton & Depot

To be eligible for our 2024 Graduate Program, you'll need to:

• Be an Australian/New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident
• Have completed an undergraduate or postgraduate degree within the last 2 years of program start date (e.g. 2022, 2023 or January 2024)
• Be able to commence full time employment commencing February 2024
• Have studied the relevant degree/discipline in (but not limited to); Civil & Mechanical Engineering, Science, Supply Chain/Logistics and/or Commerce.

Upon successful completion of the 12 month Aggregates Graduate Development Program, below are the potential career opportunities on offer and not limited to (NB: vacancies are based on business needs and subject to availability):

Quarry/Production Supervisor: This role provides the opportunity to lead and manage a quarry team to ensure that aggregates are produced both safely and sustainably.  This role involves working closely with the Area Operations Manager to achieve the production Volumes and product efficiency, that meets customer service requirements and also to engage with all quarry staff and drivers and provide strong leadership in the areas of health and safety, the environment, operations management, cost management and operational improvement.

Maintenance Supervisor: This role provides the opportunity to Manage the execution of all aspects of fixed, mobile & electrical plant maintenance in accordance with asset management guidelines on a daily, weekly and monthly basis, drive a safety first work culture that ensures an incident and injury free work environment as well as Ensuring daily KPI targets are met and Coordinate and lead a team of contractors

Transport Supervisor: This role is responsible for the effective supervision of transport resources, assisting via communication and reporting to ensure that they are utilised to optimise the businesses safety, financial and operational results.   Provide advice and feedback on transport operational issues to Regional Logistics Manager.
