Focused on developing Operational Leaders, you will be exposed to one of our business units: Aggregates (Quarrying), Concrete (Production) or Humes (civil precast concrete manufacturer).

Commencing in February 2024, our 12 month program consists of four, three month blocks tailored to both your interests and business needs. Moving across various sites, you will experience different places, people and functions in real jobs working on real projects.

The Holcim Graduate program is an opportunity to experience and learn the various business divisions of Holcim Australia and New Zealand. The program incorporates the various personal, professional, technical and divisional-specific skills required as an operational employee and potential leader within Holcim. The 12-month program tailored to both your interests and Holcim's business requirements. Moving across various sites, you will experience different places, people and functions in real jobs working on real projects. The program will see you work across multiple locations and may require you to travel to some of our regional sites. 

Humes 

The Humes Business is Australia's leading manufacturer of steel reinforced concrete pipes, culverts and a wide range of quality engineered precast concrete and environmental products. Humes operates across a broad range of industries with three distinct product portfolios applicable to the Australian construction industry, Pipeline Systems, Water Solutions, and Engineered Structures.

Our Humes business unit is focused on civil precast concrete manufacturing and within your rotations you will gain insight into the operational, technical, business and project aspects of the business. You will gain onsite experience understanding relationship management, effective use of transport, forecasting, manufacturing process and production planning, and asset lifecycle management.

Within Australia, our Humes placements are located in:

• NSW - Blacktown with Visits to Tamworth
• QLD - Ipswich (visit to Grafton, possible 6 weeks in Rockhampton/Townsville to gain exposure to other projects)
• VIC - Laverton (occasional travel to Echuca)
• WA - Welshpool

To be eligible for our 2024 Graduate Program, you'll need to:

• Be an Australian/New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident
• Have completed an undergraduate or postgraduate degree within the last 2 years of program start date (e.g. 2022, 2023 or January 2024)
• Be able to commence full time employment commencing February 2024
• Have studied the relevant degree/discipline in; Civil, Structural & Mechanical Engineering

Upon successful completion of the 12 month Humes Graduate Development Program, below are the potential career opportunities on offer and not limited to (NB: vacancies are based on business needs and subject to availability):

Production Engineer: This role drives continual improvement and innovation with operational improvement programs to improve cost outcomes, quality, safety and engagement in the site workforce. It also gets involved in cost management and analysis in relation to projects and production. Provides Technical support: design, set-ups, planning & scheduling, labour and consumable requirements.

Project Engineer: This role is responsible for planning, executing and finalising projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors in order to deliver projects according to plan. The Project Engineer will also define the project's objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle.

Quality Assurance Officer: This role is responsible for Administer Quality requirements to ensure QA system compliance and effective QC  implementation, Assist internal and external quality audits, Ensure product manufactured daily is in accordance with Australian and other relevant standards and will Report to management any areas where product quality performance will impact adversely on financial or customer satisfaction standards

Project Coordinator: This role is responsible for the planning, execution and finalisation of Hoclim’s delivery of projects for the business according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes coordinating the efforts of team members in order to deliver projects according to plan. The Project Coordinator liaises with the customer to obtain look-aheads, manage claims and address any potential disputes.

Structural Design Engineer: This role is responsible for the provision of Civil/Structural Engineering Design work for reinforced concrete structures. It’s a key role in the Technical Services team and is integral to manufacturing, product and project work Humes undertakes throughout Australia
