Ready to make your impact on tomorrow? We’re seeking thinkers and doers, visionaries and change-makers to join our 2025 Graduate Program!

About the Role

Our bodies and environment all depend on water, it is the building block that supports all life. Water issues are becoming increasingly prominent as we struggle with disparity between water availability and demands, water pollution, and competition for limited water resources. At Jacobs, we recognize these challenges and our engineers, scientists, and planners are working together with clients to find the right solutions to their water challenges.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Water Resources Engineer to join our Melbourne Water Resources team in 2025. You’ll be working on projects for a range of clients across Australia and New Zealand, from assessing surface water availability for the purposes of assessing the reliability of water supplies, to assessing and mitigating flood impacts due to new infrastructure. This work will involve a wide range of tasks including technical analysis of data, spatial analysis and mapping, hydrologic (rainfall runoff) and hydraulic modelling, and report writing. We'll mentor you each step of the way to ensure you’re set up for success.

Here’s What You’ll Need

Ideally, by January 2025 you’ll hold a university degree in Engineering and you possess a keen interest in surface water hydrology. This is a unique role that requires applicants to hold the right to work in Australia. Bring your curiosity, collaborative spirit, and strong communication skills, and we’ll help you grow, pursue and fulfil what drives you – so we can make big impacts on the world, together.

Our 2025 Graduate Program

As a Graduate at Jacobs, you’ll be a valued member of our team from Day 1 and work on real projects, bids and tenders from the get-go. From gaining hands-on experience, to participating in networking events and structured learning sessions, you’ll find new and inventive ways to help our clients make the world a better place.

Our teams offer a supportive environment to help you to learn, grow and excel. Working under the guidance and mentorship of our experts and industry leaders, you’ll develop the skills and knowledge to deliver the boldest solutions for the extraordinary and the everyday.

You'll receive structured advancement throughout the grad program, along with salary increases over your first two years. We offer a competitive salary, great employee benefits and income protection. Please note the salaries listed on our job advertisements are base salaries, excluding super.

We see graduates as the future leaders of our business, which is why we’re delighted to have placed #23 in the Australian Financial Review’s Top 100 Graduate Employers award for ‘Most Popular Employer’ in 2024 and featured in the Top 10 for 'Most Popular Engineering Employers' Award!
