As a People & Capability Graduate your various rotations will give you exposure to all areas of the function: P&C Business Partnering, Leadership & Capability, Talent & Engagement, Remuneration & Benefits, HR Analytics, Talent Acquisition and  Employee Relations.

This function essentially guides and supports all team members throughout the cycle of their employment experience with Kmart. Your day-to-day work as a People & Capability Graduate may include hiring, paying, training, developing, rewarding, recognising, celebrating and supporting our Kmart team members. 

The People & Capability team are mostly based in Melbourne, in Kmart's National Office in Mulgrave.  However there are some team members who are based across Australia, New Zealand and also internationally in Asia! The People & Capability team are passionate about making Kmart a great place to work and grow together.

To be eligible for our 2024 Graduate Program, you'll need to:

  • Be an Australian/New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident
  • Have completed an undergraduate or postgraduate degree within the last 3 years of program start date (e.g. 2021, 2022, 2023 or January 2024)
  • Be able to commence full time employment commencing February 2024
  • Be willing to relocate to Melbourne at own cost (if necessary), and commit to staying for a minimum of 3 years
  • Have studied the relevant degree/discipline

To join the People & Capability team, you'll need to have a relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Psychology or Business Administration/Management with a major in Human Resources.
