Our insurance graduate program offers you deep insight into a key insurance function – underwriting.
Underwriting is the process of assessing the risk a customer presents before agreeing to offer insurance protection. Commonly known insurance products include motor and home insurance. Examples of less commonly known products include Lenders Mortgage Insurance, Trade Credit, and Liability.
Developing the fundamental skills and knowledge required to operate an insurance business is a superb way to accelerate your career in an industry that offers endless opportunities.
Rotations
Insurance graduates will experience three rotations within our large business underwriting function. The exposure across type of customer, type of industry, and type of insurance is vast.
Some of the skills you will have opportunity to develop:
· Technical insurance knowledge including regulatory and legislative.
· External stakeholder engagement and management.
· Effective communication with emphasis on fostering relationships.
· Business acumen across many sectors and industries.
· Organisation skills.
· Interpersonal skills.

Throughout the expression of interest period (8th May to 2nd July), we will be hosting events to make sure you have all the information you need to make an informed decision on whether our program is right for you.
We will cover lots of topics, including:
· Deep insights into each program stream.
· The recruitment and selection process.
· The graduate experience including rotations and learning & development.
· What life is really like working at QBE.
When applications formally open on 3rd July, those who have submitted an expression of interest will be the first to be notified.
Eligibility
To be eligible for our graduate program, you must have:
· Completed a bachelor or postgraduate degree within the two years prior to the graduate program start date (12/02/24).
· Unrestricted working rights in Australia.
