The automation uses robotics to minimise large labour intensive tasks in the production process from seeding through harvest and packing.  

We are seeking a motivated, energetic individual to join the team at our Arundel facility.  The facility is used for R&D and staging of future facility builds.  

ABOUT THE ROLE 

The Electrical Engineer role involves further refining and optimising the current electrical design as well as designing new electrical control systems for a fully automated indoor vertical farm. The work is with large scale automation equipment.

The role requires somebody who can work within a fast-paced team to test and refine electrical designs for both automation and power distribution projects while at the same time showing a willingness to learn new skills.  

  • Provide professional electrical engineering work in the planning, design and construction of vertical farming facilities  
  • Provide project management methods to ensure the electrical design and installation is completed on schedule and to budget
  • Create and modify electrical drawings such as singe line diagrams (SLD's) cabinet layouts, schematics, network architecture layouts and wiring diagrams
  • Power modelling (PowerCAD) to develop the distribution scheme and facilitate protection studies, fault studies
  • Preparation of design documentation including design calculations, earthing, protection schemes and cable sizing
  • Preparation of tender documentation and specifications
  • Develop commissioning plans, test sheets, checklists, schedules and verification
  • Communicate with network providers, local authorities and stakeholders to ensure design compliance and timely delivery of projects

ABOUT YOU 

The right candidate will have experience in Electrical Design with a degree in Electrical Engineering.

The ideal applicant will have the following: 

  • Previous experience in large scale new construction works
  • Experience with diverse power sources including more than 1 power source to a facility (desirable not essential)
  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 5+ year of electrical engineering experience.  CPENG/REPEQ desired
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical and the ability to produce and interpret electrical drawings
  • Competent in LV design for buildings, switchgear selection and control systems.  Experience with HV design desired
  • Competent in Project Planning and document management
  • Extensive knowledge of relevant Australian Standards, the National Construction Code
  • Previous experience designing electrical systems for food processing facilities is highly regarded
  • Some interstate travel required to support new installations or operational support
