Data Analyst

Ventia are seeking to engage a Graduate Data Analyst to join our Defence Base Services (DBS) contract working as part of the Project Delivery team. This is a full-time permanent position based in our East Perth office and is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified or soon to be graduate to enhance your career and work with a high performing team who are incredibly supportive. 

Administrative duties form a large part of the day-to-day operations of this role, specifically in the review, processing and submission of proposals to Defence and the improvement and maintenance of automations behind them, with each proposal requiring a critical eye and attention to detail. You will work closely with the contract to develop and improve processes and systems, interpret and validate data and analyse results using statistical techniques to present recommendations to the business unit and identify areas of cost mitigation and revenue raising. In addition, this role provides you with the freedom to suggest improvements to increase efficiencies and reduce administrative burden.

Due to the multiple internal and external interactions, the successful applicants will be able to communicate effectively across various departments. 

As result we seek to employ people who will succeed in this role, therefore, you will ideally have:   

• Australian Citizenship and be able to obtain and maintain a suitable national police clearance 
• Recent Graduate qualification – seeking education over experience 
• Bachelor’s degree in commercial or finance related discipline – Anything analytical 
• Previous VBA/VBS (Excel Macro’s), SQL, Power BI experience – essential 
• Previous SAP, Python experience – Highly regarded but not essential (training provided) 
• Excellent communication skills 
• Strong ability and focus to learn 
• Self-motivated and proactive with a critical eye and high level of attention to detail 
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to meet tight timeframes 
• An ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with multiple operational managers and support function representatives as well as a high-profile client
