WHAT YOU’LL DO

Our energy desk has two roles, a trader and an analyst, which work side by side within the trading team.

• Trader: Your primary responsibilities will involve collaborating with traders and analysts to strategically identify opportunities and execute trades within the global energy markets. You'll also have the chance to actively contribute to shaping trading strategies that enhance our overall approach to energy trading.
• Analyst: Your primary responsibilities will involve collaborating with traders to provide fundamental research about global events, market dynamics, pricing and more. You’ll deploy robust analytical methods, utilising data to identify trends and enable informed trading decisions.

WHO YOU ARE

Many who’ve had success in our trading team have studied STEM majors or minors, but we’re open to all individuals with strengths in the right areas:

• As a trader, you’ll need knowledge of statistics, mathematics (especially probability), numerical reasoning, and data analysis. We look for candidates who can make data-driven decisions under pressure.
• As an analyst, you’ll need strong quantitative skills and should be adept in statistical modelling for decision-making. Our analysts require analytical expertise to derive insights from complex data, with proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or similar and a keen attention to detail. 
• Additionally, we look for people who have:
  • A keen interest in solving challenging problems in a collaborative way
  • A curious nature paired with a drive to get things done and deliver results 
  • An ability to communicate clearly and concisely
  • A positive attitude, enthusiasm and willingness to learn. An existing passion for trading or finance knowledge is great but not a requirement; we’re confident that those who enjoy solving challenging problems will find the trading world engaging and rewarding.
