Eligibility
You must be Australian or New Zealand Citizen OR an Australian Permanent Resident AND be in your final year of study of a university degree OR completed an undergraduate or postgraduate degree no more than 3 years ago.

You’ll need to be available to start with us as a permanent employee in February 2024.

Our Technology (Cyber) Program  

This is a 12-month program dedicated to a specific technology capability.

You'll spend 12 months in a team, building a well-rounded understanding of how that technology function works. You'll be surrounded by leaders who are invested in your development and focused on providing tailored experiences to match your determination and drive to explore their area of expertise.

This program has been designed for you to get straight into a defined role and team for an extended period, but still not lose the perks of a grad program, including the connection to a larger cohort and direct access to our leadership team.

Whether your education to date is in cyber security or you’ve only just discovered your love for all things cybersecurity, the Specialist Cybersecurity program will make a great home for you! We’re looking for people who are passionate and committed to their development in this space.

Choose this Specialist Technology Program if you’re clear on your future role in Cyber. You will need a STEM degree and background. Then, we will provide you with a technical, capability-focused program to build specific skills through hands-on experience in a specific function of tech at Westpac.

What's this program about?
Experienced cybersecurity professionals are and will remain, in high demand, which is why we’ve made cybersecurity a strategic priority for Westpac.

At the core of our cybersecurity function we build, test, maintain and improve the tools and frameworks to enable and accelerate the security of our customers’ data and the services we supply them.

You will gain exposure to the full lifecycle of our cybersecurity processes, giving you the necessary experience to build your skillset in cybersecurity.

How it works:
You will join our cyber team for 12 months, focused on building out your knowledge in cybersecurity principles. You will be surrounded by teams, managers and senior leadership who are passionate technologists, and who are invested in your development.

You will join the well-established graduate community already working in our cyber teams. It’s a large cohort of peers to share the experience with and provides opportunities to get involved in community-driven initiatives which develop your network and specifically our overall cyber capability.
