What will I do?

The primary objective of this role is to provide support to the project management team in ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of the stakeholders. This role brings together your engineering, commercial and management skills.

  • Assisting with project planning, including developing project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Tracking project progress and ensuring that project milestones are met on time.
  • Monitoring project budget and expenses and identifying potential cost overruns.
  • Creating and maintaining project documentation, such as project plans, risk registers, and status reports.
  • Communicating project status and progress to stakeholders, including project managers, team members, and clients.
  • Identifying and escalating project issues and risks to the project management team.
  • Participating in project meetings and contributing to project discussions and decision-making.
  • Ensuring that project data is accurate and up-to-date, and maintaining project records in project management tools and systems.
  • Accustoming and following best practices, processes and systems documented and utilised in the company.
  • Contributing to new ideas and innovations for improvements in Project Controls 
  • Being part of new systems developments and/or deployments for Project Controls.

Skills / Qualifications

  • Completed your Engineering/Commerce or Construction Management degree or similar by the end of 2023 or earlier.
  • Attention to detail: You will be responsible for creating detailed designs and specifications and must pay close attention to detail to ensure the accuracy and safety of the work.
  • Teamwork: Most engineering projects require collaboration and teamwork, so strong interpersonal and collaboration skills are essential
  • Adaptability: Engineering is a constantly evolving field, and as a graduate engineer you should be able to adapt to new technologies and techniques.
  • Problem solving: Engineering often requires finding creative solutions to complex problems. Good critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills are highly valued.
  • Communication skills: The ability to communicate technical information in a clear and concise manner is important for a graduate engineer. This includes the ability to write reports, give presentations, and explain complex technical concepts to non-technical colleagues.
  • Continuous Learning: Technologies and methodologies are constantly changing so staying up to date is an important attribute.
